Our practice is committed to providing the best treatment possible for all of our patients. We are dedicated to making your treatment and overall experience in our office a success. Please understand that payment of your bill is considered a part of your treatment. The following is a statement of our Financial Policy.
Payment is expected at the time of service.
Our office accepts cash and credit card payments, including Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
We also offer several financing options through outside lending companies.
If you are interested in this option, please ask us for an application or see details below to apply online.
We require 24 hours notice for cancellation of scheduled appointments. An appointment cancelled without 24 hours notice will result in a $25.00 charge to your account.
Please note that if it becomes necessary to cancel a surgery appointment with our office, seven (7) business days notice is required. Failure to provide adequate notice as defined will result in a $250.00 charge to your account.
Any remaining account balance not paid in full within thirty days will be charged interest at a rate of one and one-half percent per month. You will receive regular statements from our office showing the status of your account. If for some reason you are having difficulty paying a balance on your account, please call the office as soon as possible to notify us.
Patients With Insurance
As a courtesy to our patients, we will accept “assignment of benefits” from insurance carriers and will bill your insurance carrier for you. To do this, we must be provided with complete insurance information. If applicable, we will also assist you in billing your secondary insurance carrier. We also provide the added benefit of tracking unpaid claims. Every effort will be made to closely estimate your co-payments and deductibles, which are due at the time of service. The ultimate responsibility for any unpaid balance rests with you the patient. Please understand that your insurance is a contract made between you and your insurance company. If an insurance carrier has not paid within 90 days of billing, any unpaid balances are due in full.
Some benefit plans require a specialist referral form from your primary care physician (PCP). It is your responsibility to see that the referral is obtained for the visit. If further treatment is necessary, it will be your responsibility to obtain any additional referrals. Maryland Uniform Consultation Referrals are good for 60 days if not otherwise specified on the front of the referral form by your primary care physician.
Patients with Medicare
We will bill for procedures that are listed as a covered benefit with Medicare. We will also bill your secondary/supplemental insurance, if applicable. All co-payments and deductibles are due at the time the service is provided. Please note that Medicare does not cover dental extractions or surgery on the supporting structures of the teeth. The only exception Medicare will make to this rule is if the extractions are prior to radiation therapy for cancer patients and the teeth are in the field of the radiation treatment.
Extended Payment Plans
We also offer an extended payment plan with prior credit approval. We have a financing company available to accommodate patients who require a payment plan or wish to make several payments. There is a brief application that must be filled out. It only takes 5 minutes to get approval, and there are several options for deferred interest on the account. In order for us to serve you better, the application must be filled out prior to the appointment date (if being used for surgery). It is also required that a photocopy of your drivers license or picture ID is on file with us. If you are interested in taking advantage of this service, we will be happy to assist you.
