Shown here is an example of how implants are used for attachment of an overlying denture.
|This x-ray shows four dental implants which have been placed in the lower jaw for later attachment of a lower denture prosthesis. Usually, a bar type attachment is placed over the implants for stabilization of the denture, providing greater comfort, retention, and improved chewing function.||This x-ray shows the healing caps attached to the lower implants which were placed during the second stage surgery. After approximately three weeks of healing, the healing caps are removed. At that time the bar attachment for the denture can be fabricated by the patients regular dentist.|
